“I always wondered why somebody didn’t do something about that, and then I realized that I am somebody” – Lily Tomlin
I am not too sure when my passion for wildlife began. Trying to convince my parents that it was a good idea to pack my 200 some stuffed animals into giant trash bags for a weekend vacation so “no animal would be left behind” might have been a sign. But it wasn’t until I was older that I started to learn all the conflict and issues that our wildlife face today. The mistreatment of animals is something that really hits me at my core. I don’t understand it and it breaks my heart.
It is now that I have decided to do something about it. Feeling sad for the animals who are being poached or have their homes taken bellow their feet just isn’t cutting it. I need to do something. Through Saving Savanna, I hope to build awareness about the issues surrounding animals and hopefully in some way, contribute to saving these animals lives. I believe every living thing has a right to live, and we have sadly taken that right. We do not own this planet, but share it. These beloved animals, including elephants, tigers, lions, and rhinos, are declining in the hundreds and if we don’t do something about it, they will soon become extinct.
My goal: to Save the Savanna
